Did you know that much of the "health food" on the market is not only unhealthy, but can actually derail your healthy living plan? What you see boldly and beautifully promoted on the front of a food package is not always the full story. And not knowing the full story can get you sidetracked.
Did you know that many of the lotions, potions andother things that we use on our bodies on a daily basis contain chemicals that can actually disrupt your hormones and harm your health?
An easy way to reduce the toxic burden is to replace some of those chemically-laden lotions with something soothing, healing and completely non-toxic.
Ever notice that when you start the day on a wrong note it often leads to a string of sour notes? A negative mindset can set the tone for a "lousy" day and lead to a bunch of not-so-good-for-you choices that, in the long run, can make you feel less healthy, joyful and energetic than you'd like.
What's the secret for a better day?
It's winter in Minnesota - again! And the thought of a cold, refreshing smoothie (a typical breakfast for me) is just not cutting it.
One of my other favorite breakfasts, especially on a cold day, is a warm, comforting bowl of oatmeal. But not just your ordinary oatmeal. I bump mine up with lots of goodies to create a meal that is balanced, tastes awesome and keeps me energized all morning long.
Did you know that you have the unique ability to actually influence – in a big way – whether your body is full of energy and vitality or whether it’s sick, lethargic and headed for a trainwreck? Much of it depends on what you eat.
If you eat yogurt, you probably know that it’s a good-for-you food that can keep you super healthy. The goodness comes from the beneficial bacteria, or “probiotics” that are found in most good yogurt.
I used to shy away from making salads – they seemed like a lot of work and always tasted better from someone else’s kitchen. I’ve gotten over that and now salads, especially in the warm summer months, have become a mainstay in our house.
One thing I hear often is that “it’s expensive to eat healthy!”. Everyone’s concerned about the cost of groceries nowadays. But that shouldn’t keep you from buying the best, healthiest and most nourishing foods for you and your family.
A day without chocolate is ... well, a sad day. That’s why I was super-excited about these simple and healthy no bake chocolate fruit and nut clusters that my friend Jessi’s hubby made up for his personal training clients.
We don’t usually think of fast food as being healthy. And most people believe it’s almost impossible to eat healthy on the cheap. Lunch today proves both wrong!
